I found you all alone
pouting beneath a tree.
I needed You
and you needed me.
Rust and Cancer
had made you sore.
We worked like surgeons.
You craved more.
I could almost feel you smile
when the last plug wire went in place;
Won't be long now,
We'll be ready to race.
Tap the gas
and turn the key.
Oh what a team
the two of us will be!
You rumble to life
and beg for more.
Tranny snaps to attention,
gas pedal thru the floor.
Away we go-
ripping into the night
but maybe tomorrow,
I'll fix the dash lights.
